STAGE 1

COUNTRY TRAX TRAINING

Once arriving at Country TRAX you will be welcomed to an amazing facility, your Intermidiate course will start with the theory and the next two days will be focusing on riding skills.

By attending one of our riding courses, you will participate in detailed discussions related to the theory and physics of controlling the motorcycle and follow practical demonstrations under the watchful eye of an experienced instructors. You will have ample opportunity to practice and master various exercises in a safe environment. You will leave with newly acquired skills which will serve you well in any riding environment.

World class training academy on the 600-hectare Country Trax site is situated near Amersfoort in Mpumalanga, and Jan du Toit has specially designed and prepared the facilities for off-road training of the highest standard.

STAGE 2

Pongola Game Reserve

Nestled in Northern KwaZulu Natal, with the tunning Lebombo mountains providing a scenic backdrop, Pongola Game Reserve offers an idyllic setting for an awe-inspiring Safari retreat. Renowned for its outstanding conservation endeavors, the eserve has garnered a well-deserved reputation as one of the finest conservation areas in the region.

Not many people get the privilege to ride there BMW R1250 GS in the game park having Four of the BIG FIVE! Will definitely get the adrenaline pumping.

Activities in Pongola:

Rhino Tracking – Join one of our guides while following the spoor of these prehistoric giants. Feel the excitement of viewing them from a concealed spot in the bush. Appropriate attire necessary.

Game Drives – Game Drives are in open vehicles with sightings of White Rhino, Buffalo, Giraffe, Blue Wildebeest, Zebra, Kudu, Nyala, Warthog, Impala and many other species. Appropriate attire necessary.

Boat Cruises – Combine game viewing & bird watching from the tranquility of the water. Boat cruises last approximately 3 hours

Tiger Fishing – Lake Jozini is the third largest lake in South Africa and is the southernmost home of the tiger fish. Also, known as Pongolapoort dam. It is approximately 30km long and 5km wide.

Fish eagles safari road – Enjoy a Breakfast, Lunch or Sundowner cruise while viewing the game grazing along the shores of the lake or simply relax while our friendly crew look after you.

Fishing Boat Hire – Fishing in the 13,276ha Pongolapoort Dam for Africa’s fresh water predator… the Tiger Fish. This is a must for visitors.

STAGE 3

Swaziland Mlilwane Wildlife

After a pictureres day of amazing landscapes in the saddle of your BMW R1250 GS you find yourself experiencing the Swazi culture!

A tiny country with a big heart and warm, friendly people aptly describes Eswatini (Swaziland) – a country that is one of the few remaining monarchies in Africa and embraces and upholds its own unique and ancient traditions. Both the monarchy and the people of Eswatini actively maintain and preserve a remarkable cultural heritage that is probably unmatched anywhere in Africa.

Visitors can get a better idea of traditional African culture here than pretty much anywhere else in the region, and what is seen, including spectacular festivals, has not simply been resuscitated for the tourist dollar but is the real deal. The famous Umhlanga (Reed Dance) and Incwala are traditional ceremonies that involve tens of thousands of Swazi people, and attract visitors from all over the world. But traditional attire, ceremonies and dancing are to be found throughout the country at all times of the year.

STAGE 4

HAZYVIEW

Traveling north we make our through the most amazing adventure bike riding you will experience in the world!

Hazeyview is located near the famous Kruger National Park. The town is well-know for its banana plantations and is said to have the best climate in the world for growing bananas. The town gets its name from the shimmering haze that floats above the ground on hot summer days.

The day is not over yet for those wanting to venture into the Kruger National Park there will be night game drive to see the Big Five, spectacular experience!

STAGE 5

BUSHBOYS

Heading out of Hazeyview we meander through the pine forests and make our way to Dullstroom.

Dullstroom is one of South Africa’s premier fly-fishing destinations. The town features the highest railway station in South Africa at 2,077 m above sea level as well at the foot of De Berg, the highest point in the province is at 2,332 m high.

Here we will enjoy a stop at the famous Harry’s Pancakes to tide us over!

Heading out of town we make our way to a small town called Tonteldoos. Our stop over for our final evening will be on a farm called Bushboys. Here we will be hosted by Joe and Ruth Holmes. We will spend the evening with Joe,s famous “Braai” better know as a Barbecue and sharing our highs and lows of our adventure!

The booking of the expedition will be approved after payment of 50% of the total price and then we will contact you with the further steps regarding the payment of the remaining part of the price. The total price is due at least 30 days before the start of the expedition.

No, there is no visa requirement for tourists from the European Union for stays of less than 90 days. If you are not a resident of the European Union, please check with your representative office.

We recommend that you have valid travel insurance and consult with your doctor or travel medicine center for vaccinations. However, no vaccinations are compulsory.

Yes, motorcycle support and service will be provided if needed, and an assistance vehicle with a spare motorcycle will also travel with us.

The expedition is suitable for intermediate riders, but we will spend the first two days at the „Country Trax“ adventure school where we will take your skills to a whole new level.

The course includes theory and practical training under the guidance of highly experienced instructors such as Jan Du Toit, Warren Venter or Andrew Lakomý.

None is compulsory, but we recommend that you consult withyour doctor. We recommend the following as such travel essentials in our experience: hepatitis A+B, typhoid, rabies.

Yes, you do. It’s not necessary because of the police, but in case an accident can sometimes cause problems with insurance companies. For example, issuing one in the Czech Republic costs only 2€ and you will receive your licence immediately.

Yes, there should be a connection to the internet everywhere in the hotels.

Those interested should have a valid motorcycle licence and basic motorcycle handling skills.

We will send you a list of recommended items before departure. The basics are appropriate moto gear for off-road motorcycle riding and personal items.   Of course, you can consult with us.

During the expedition you will ride a BMW R1250 GS, which each participant will take over at the start.

Yes, a professional photographer will be with us during the expedition.

In our past experience, you will not spend more than €350-550 from your wallet.

All of our tourguides are experienced mechanics and BMW experts, so we can solve many potential repairs on the spot. If the bike were to become unrideable, you’ll receive a spare motorcycle, which is on the support car.

In January and February, temperatures tend to be in Johannesburg and the surrounding area can reach 30°C during the day and drop to a pleasant 17°C at night. So absolutely ideal conditions for motorcycling when it’s snowing in Europe.

Of course, Laundry services are available at the places we stay except at Country Trax and Bush Boys.

The price of the flight ticket includes 2x checked baggage 23 kg and 1x cabin baggage 7kg. We have tested that there is no problem to fit in the weight limit even with all moto equipment. Please take into account that at least one checked bag will take up your moto equipment.
