A one-off chance

The organisers have just confirmed that the Dakar 2027 won't run in Saudi Arabia. It's back in Africa for one season and set to return in 2028. The official route isn't out yet, so we can't give an exact schedule. That's why the expedition dates are floating: plan on about 10 days in January 2027, and we'll fix the exact dates once the official route is out. But you can book your place now, and we'll publish the itinerary as soon as the route is announced.

Most likely we'll have one base right in the middle of the action. We won't chase every stage at all costs: we'll head to the race where it makes sense, and in between enjoy the best of Morocco beyond the Dakar. We'll fine-tune the schedule as the route comes out, so we get as much of the Dakar as possible.

You join the expedition waiting list for €100. If it doesn't go ahead (for example because the organisers cancel the race), you get the €100 back. Maximum 10 riders, and that's on purpose: a small group gets closer to the track, finds rooms even when the desert is sold out, and nobody waits around for the others.

How it works

Transport to the Dakar in four steps

  1. Drop off your bike

    At one of our pick-up points in Prague, Brno, Olomouc, Ostrava, Pardubice or Bratislava, in early January.

  2. Our truck takes it to our base in Málaga

    Your bike is insured up to its full value and waits for you, ready to ride, at our Málaga base. It can even stay there for a month for free. See what our base looks like →

  3. Fly in and head south

    From Málaga it's only 140 km to the port. We'll help you with the ferry ticket. Ride with us on the expedition, or on your own with our support behind you.

  4. See the Dakar with your own eyes

    You'll ride to spots where you can safely watch the stages. After the race you drop the bike in Málaga and our truck brings it home.

Follow the Dakar on a motorcycle, in Morocco

The Dakar 2027 is leaving Saudi Arabia and coming back to Africa, for the first time in almost twenty years. If it runs, we'll be there: on our bikes, in the same desert the competitors race across.

The guided expedition is a one-off: one group, 10 days in January, starting and finishing in Málaga. Ride your own bike or rent one of our BMWs.

Before you ask

Is the Dakar 2027 route confirmed?

The organisers have confirmed that the Dakar 2027 won't run in Saudi Arabia. According to press reports it starts in January in Spain or Portugal and continues in Morocco. The official route hasn't been announced yet. We'll send the exact itinerary as soon as it's published.

Why pay €100 before the route is known?

It's your place on the waiting list. The expedition is limited to 10 riders and we hold our rental bikes for it alone. If it goes ahead, your sign-up is binding and the €100 comes off the price. If it doesn't go ahead, you get the €100 back.

What if the race is cancelled?

If the trip doesn't go ahead for any reason, for example because the organisers cancel, we refund the full €100.

How do I buy the ferry to Morocco?

You'll get a short guide from us on where and how to book the ferry to Morocco and what to expect at the port. If anything gets stuck, call our 24/7 hotline.

What's included in the expedition?

Professional guides, a photographer, a support van with a spare bike, hotels in twin rooms with breakfast, the ferry, Rescue Morocco and a special event T-shirt.

What isn't included?

Flights, fuel, alcoholic drinks, lunches and dinners, and tips.

What's Morocco like in January?

Pleasant during the day, around freezing in the mornings and in the Atlas, and there can be snow on the passes. Bring layers and winter gloves.
