BMW Motorrad Days 2027 — and you're already there
On 2–4 July 2027 Garmisch-Partenkirchen turns into the capital of the BMW world. We ride in on Friday evening, spend the whole Saturday at the festival and roll out on Sunday morning towards the Dolomites. No queuing for a hotel, no planning, no riding home tired. The event runs every two years — after 2027 the next one is 2029, so this is the one departure that has it.

BMW Motorrad Days 2027 — the whole Saturday
Around 40,000 riders take over Garmisch-Partenkirchen at the foot of the Hausberg. Stunt shows, beer tents, exhibitors and accessory suppliers, club meets from half of Europe, and guided test rides of the current BMW range out into the pre-Alpine landscape. It runs every two years, so 2027 is the one edition of this cycle — the next is 2029.
Saturday is yours, from morning to the last band. No stage to ride, no schedule to keep.
And that's the part most visitors don't get: you don't only turn up at the world's biggest BMW party. You ride Grossglockner to get there, and the Dolomites and Stelvio on the way out.

Grossglockner High Alpine Road
Ride one of Europe's most iconic mountain roads, with sweeping curves and breathtaking alpine views. This legendary pass is a true highlight for every rider.
Passo Gardena & Pordoi
The heart of the Dolomites on a perfect riding loop — Passo Gardena, Pordoi and Sella, with a stop in Cortina d'Ampezzo. Endless curves, dramatic peaks and unforgettable scenery.
Stelvio Pass
Take on the legendary Stelvio Pass with its 48 hairpin turns and iconic mountain setting. A must-ride for every motorcycle enthusiast.
Swiss Alps & the Engadin
Cross into Switzerland with glaciers on one side and turquoise lakes on the other, and drop into the Engadin valley — smooth tarmac, wide views and a rest day at the end of it.
Arlberg & the way home
The ride back east is no transfer stage: over the Arlberg and through the lakes of the Salzkammergut before rolling back into Vienna where the tour began.

Each tour is supported by a dedicated backup vehicle carrying your luggage, spare equipment and — most importantly — a backup motorcycle ready to go in case of any technical issue. Our guides are not only experienced riders but also trained in first aid, ensuring a quick response in any situation. On selected tours a professional paramedic is also part of the crew.

A big day across the Austrian Alps: the legendary Grossglockner High Alpine Road, then west through Tyrol to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we arrive on Friday evening — right as BMW Motorrad Days open.

The itinerary is a plan, not a promise. Weather, closed roads and passes, local or political conditions and safety come first — the guide decides on the spot and you always know before the stage starts.

Frequently asked questions
How is payment for the tour processed?+
After booking we send a confirmation with payment details. A deposit secures your place and the balance is due before departure. Payment is by bank transfer or card.
In which currency can I pay?+
The tour is priced in EUR.
Do I need a visa?+
The whole route stays inside the Schengen area — Austria, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. EU citizens need nothing but an ID card. If you travel on a non-EU passport, check your Schengen entry conditions; we're happy to provide a confirmation of the booking for your application.
What documents do I need?+
A valid motorcycle licence (category A) and an ID card or passport. An International Driving Permit is not required for EU licences within the Schengen area.
Do I need special insurance?+
The rental motorcycle comes with liability insurance. We strongly recommend your own travel and medical insurance covering motorcycling — no vaccinations or special medical requirements apply on this route.
What type of motorcycle will we use?+
The price includes a BMW R 1300 GS with free mileage. If you'd rather ride something else, you can choose another machine from our fleet — R 1300 GS Adventure, R 1250 GS / GS Adventure, F 900 GS or F 800 GS. Tell us when booking and we'll reserve it for you; larger models may carry a small surcharge.
How demanding is the riding?+
It's a fully on-road tour rated easy — sealed Alpine passes with plenty of hairpins, no gravel and no off-road sections. We ride in 2–3 groups split by pace, so you're never chasing a faster group or waiting for a slower one. Daily stages are planned with time for coffee, photos and lunch.
What happens at BMW Motorrad Days?+
We arrive in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on Friday evening and the whole Saturday is free for the festival — demo rides, the expo area, the wall of death, stunt shows and live music. Your hotel is booked, so you're not fighting for accommodation like most visitors. We leave on Sunday morning.
What if my motorcycle breaks down?+
A support vehicle travels with the group carrying luggage, spare equipment and a backup motorcycle. Your tour continues even if your bike doesn't.
Can I bring a passenger?+
Yes — a pillion passenger costs €2,400. Non-riding partners can also travel in the support vehicle; get in touch and we'll arrange it.
What about luggage?+
The support vehicle carries your luggage between hotels, so you ride with only what you need for the day.
Can you cater for special diets?+
Yes. Tell us your dietary requirements when booking and we'll arrange them for the welcome and farewell dinners and with the hotels for breakfast.
